The Training Camp will be open to skiers born in 2010 and older.

There will be 3 Training Groups at the Camp with seperate coaches dedicated to each group:

-Learn to Train (L2T) 2010, 2009, 2008

-Train to Train (T2T) 2007, 2006

-Learn to Compete (L2C) 2005 and older

Participating athletes need to be a member of a CCS club from the 2018-19 season, and have the intention of having a CCS Race License for the 2019-20 season.

The camp will begin at 6pm on Friday, May 31st for all training groups.

The camp will conclude at noon on Sunday, June 2nd.

Camp activities will be scattered around the Saskatoon area (including Blackstrap Provincial Park, 50km south of Saskatoon)

Accommodation is NOT included in the camp fee. Accommodation is the responsibility of individuals. Athletes are also responsible for their meals during the camp, as well as transporting themselves to various training locations.

Activities will include:

- Fitness Testing - Nordiq Canada's RunJumpPull Challenge, SkiErg Double Pole Power, Uphill Run

-Group Goal setting

-Technique Review

-Group games

-Rollerskiing on the Meewasin Valley trail system

-Trail running and ski hiking

-Strength Training

The training camp will feature Guest Coaches Olivia Bouffard-Nesbitt and Stuart Harden (former Canadian National Team skier and biathlete), local club coaches, and CCS Provincial Coach, Andrew Brisbin.

REVISED Race Notice for Provincials Posted

A revised Race Notice for the 2019 CCS Provincial Championships hosted by the Flin Flon Ski Club, has been posted.

A few notes from the club on the race:

a) We have a time change this weekend and Flin Flon is on Manitoba time so people will lose an hour when coming to the races

b) As weather forecasts are calling for temperatures close to melting, we will be starting Sunday's race an hour earlier at 10 am in order to provide optimum race conditions and to help get people travelling on the road earlier. 

2019 School Ski Champs (Sask Cup 11) Race Notice and Registration

On Friday, March 15th, the La Ronge Nordic Ski Club is hosting School Ski Championships at the Don Allen Ski Trails. This race also counts as Sask Cup 11, so anyone can race, not just students.

The Flin Flon Ski Club is hosting CCS Provincials on Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th, which will make that weekend a Sask Cup Triple Header!

36th Don Allen Saskaloppet Next Weekend!

The 36th annual La Ronge Don Allen Saskaloppet is set to go Saturday, March 2, 2019, with distance options of 2 km, 7 km, 12 km, 20 km, 38 km and 56 km.  The special 2-day Kupesewin events start Friday, March 1 with a 52-km and a 77-km option.  Registration is at www.zone4.ca, just search “Saskaloppet”. 

The deadline for regular registration is Monday, February 25.  A late registration fee of $10 will allow skiers to sign up until Thursday, February 28 at 9:00 a.m.  Snow conditions on the Saskaloppet Trail are excellent.  For more information, e-mail Sid Robinson at sid.robinson@sasktel.net

Remaining Sask Cup Races 2018/19 Season

The Polar Vortex kind of jumbled up our race schedule, but now that it’s gone (knock on wood) let’s get reorganized:

Regia is scheduled to hosted two Sask Cups on the weekend of March 9th and 10th.

The following weekend there will be a North Saskatchewan Triple Header with La Ronge hosting School Ski Champs (also a Sask Cup) on Friday, March 15th at the Don Allen Trails, and then Flin Flon hosting a rescheduled Provincial Championships on Saturday, March 16th and Sunday, March 17th.

Race Notices and Registration for the Regina Sask Cups and School Ski Champs are not yet available, but will be posted when they are.

Flin Flon will reopen registration on Zone4 for Provincials and will carry over any registrations for those who registered in early February.

Sask Cup #3 - Humboldt - Results and News Stories

The results from Sask Cup #3 in Humboldt have been posted. Click HERE for the link, or visit the “Sask Cup Race Series” Page under the “Events” Tab, and scroll down until you reach the results section.

It was a beautiful sunny day in Humboldt with temperatures ranging between -10C and -5C, and over 80 racers took part.

Thank you to the Carlton Trail Ski Club and their dedicated team of volunteers for putting on such a fun and well organized event.

E-Learning Waxing Clinic on The Locker

There is now an Online Ski Waxing Clinic on The Locker.

The course was produced by CCC and xcskination.com and is presented by CCC World Cup Wax Tech Joel Jacques.

The E-Learning course is available to NCCP trained cross country ski coaches through The Locker (www.thelocker.coach.ca)

Once you log in to your account, click on “E-Learning”, change setting from “Multi-Sport” to “Cross Country Skiing”, and click on “Online Wax Clinic”.

The E-Learning course includes a lot of ski wax knowledge and coaches receive 3 PD points upon completion.
