Message from Chief of Comp, Sid Robinson RE: Upcoming Sask Cups in La Ronge
--------------------------------------

Sask Cups #1 and 2 are scheduled to take place in La Ronge. The plan is for a classic distance race on Saturday, November 30th and a Free Technique Sprint on Sunday, December 1st.

Currently there is 3 - 4 inches of crusty snow at the Don Allen trails. The trails need another 4-5 inches to be able to race. Sid will make the call on Friday, November 22nd whether it is likely that the trails will be ready in time for a race on November 30.

Tentatively, the back up dates for Sask Cups #1 and 2 in La Ronge is the weekend of December 14-15, 2019.

Registration for the 2019-2020 Nordiq Canada Coaching License is now open

The Nordiq Canada Coaching License is mandatory for all coaches coaching for more than 7 hours/year starting July 1st of each year. Only those coaches with a valid NC coaching license will benefit from NC’s liability insurance while performing in a coaching role with a registered cross country ski club.

Registration is done online at Zone4.ca, is free, and takes less than 5 minutes.

https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=21470&lan=1&cartlevel=1

The license is renewable on a yearly basis, starting June 15th and effective July 1st of each year.

Coaches are at the core of the Athlete Development system as they have the most influence and responsibilities in developing athletes. As such it is critical for NC and divisions to have complete standardized and reliable data in regards to who is an active coach, how many there are and what their coach training (NCCP) statuses are.

Please follow the link below for more information on the Nordiq Canada Coaching License, including the registration link and list of benefits.
